A Confession

Got some work done on the bath house and inn today, plan is to try and finish those, ease my way into the brothel.

I still got a quest to put together involving breaking into the Circle building (fun!) and then with a few minor touch ups to the city (such as making it more lively) it'll be complete and I can focus on After-city events at the beginning of chapter three.

The current plot tree of added items is sort of as follows:

Isolated Teaching Institute --> Prison --> Escape --> City --> Brothel-related items --> Lanae (and/or potential for Lucien Dominant relationship beginings) --> Waypoint towards Zenith Heights --> End of current version.

about 2/3rds of the city is done, it's just some items that are either incomplete or need some defining/refining to completely add. I want to take a look at the Iris relationship again and try and alter some things (It's hard to portray how the two have a potential to grow closer when I jump through three events and then they're separated). The brothel still has plenty of smut to do, but most of it is going to be generic sex scenes, the only major part of the brothel to do still is finish the guard post side quest, and make a separate quest involving our heroine breaking into the local circle HQ.


On a different and more personal note...


I've thought long and hard on this topic, but I figure if I'm going to be transparent about what's going on with the game, I shouldn't lie to you guys, even if it hurts my reputation/puts a bit of a stigma on the game, it's something I should be honest about.


I'm uhh... Not a college student. Well I will be in about three months, but I'm not currently one. I have every plan to go into mechanical engineering, and hopefully one day work towards a doctorate in particle physics, but I actually just graduated from High School this morning.

I'm actually 19, my age isn't a question of if I began work on it as a minor or not, but I felt like there's a certain... Stigma to begin work on a porn game and still be going to high school. I felt like if folks were aware of this fact, my game wouldn't have been able to pick up because people would have passed it off as "dumb teenage shit" without giving it a try, so I lied a bit about myself to try and give it more weight. I hope you'll all enjoy the game nonetheless for what it is, and I realize a lot of you don't give a fuck about how old I am so long as I'm old enough, but I have a strong moral compass and lying just doesn't sit well with me.

I'm making this game in my spare time for fun (like I've always stated), but lately it's been hard to do so because I have to dedicate a solid few hours to get anything significant done. If I sit in a public area, I risk one of my siblings (two older, two younger) or parent from seeing what I'm working on, but when I work on it in private I seem like a social recluse, so it's quite hard to find time to work on smut. Well that and smut results in serious writer's block.

In any case, here's a link to the most recent bit I've been working on. When I get the "official" version 0.6 out, it'll feature a mega link on top of the other ones for ease of access (I'll still keep a file dropper link though... I -really- like file dropper, even if it only keeps it saved if folks are downloading it.)

Progress!

So. I've been working on Lanae's stuff some more today, almost finished with the scene, but I got finals coming up so... Yeah. Will see how things go.

So the polls really are broken from what I can tell... Not sure if it's just me having multiple polls running or what, but... Yeah. I somehow lost half the votes.

I did take the advice that was given in them though. Will apply it, and I'll have a new poll up (assuming it's working) when the next update comes out. Working when I can on that...

Writer's Block Sucks Hardcore.

So... I've been jumping around with work. Where I -should- be putting finishing touches on the town and continuing work on the brothel, I instead decided it would be in my best interests to work on some monster H-scenes down in the Borisville sewers and to work on the Lanae event.

SPOILERS BELOW THIS LINE

It began to make me think here... And I don't want moral grounds to be Red Blue and Green between your three companions. Moral grounds should be subjective. Thus, while the choice between Lucien or Lanae will still be a matter of evil vs. chaotic sort of good, it'll be much more morally grey, hopefully leaving the player feeling unsure if they made the right decision or not.

So with that, I might work on this a bit more today, I might go play some games and chill... Thank you all for being so patient and I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to put out content for all y'all!

Typing through phone, pardon any  errors there might be. Work has been slow but steady, so far introverted seems to be preferred, will take that into account, especially for Ch. 3.

Got some more map work done but the writing is a bit rusty right now. Going to play some games over on the LoK forums to bring it back up to snuff, and because I want to. I might not make an update post for a short bit longer than usual just as a heads up.

Status Update! 4/11/13

Welp, I got a musical production that took place today, and will also take place tomorrow and all day Saturday... Assuming I'm not swamped with homework from finals approaching, expect work to speed up afterwards and that I'll hopefully get something done. I feel kind of bad, since if I had the time I wanted to work on this project, I'd probably be a lot farther along. The content added doesn't really equal the time waited, but it's a lot more content than the current version (excluding "bugtesting" versions).

 I worked a bit on dialogue that I had been unsatisfied with, and I've gotten some work done on the Bath House scene/with the brothel, created areas that would have eventually needed to be created for this chapter and the beginning of chapter three so that I can hopefully focus on small touches and events rather than the long process of creating areas when I release the current version tested and begin work on the next version.

I'll keep you all posted as things come along!


Also, two polls in regards to things game-wise... I'm going to keep the reason behind the introvert/extrovert one under an oath of silence until the next release, but you're welcome to take guesses at it (I'm sure a couple of folks have figured it out)!

Oh my gosh!

Jeez, I'm gone for a while and the views have seemed to double overnight!

I want to apologize to everyone. A friend of mine got ahold of my laptop and thought it'd be funny to delete the "private files" folder on it.

Luckily I had a backup, but it seriously put me off...

In any case, I really -am- back in business this time around! Probably going to start working on it again tonight or tomorrow.

Still, the downtime from everything going on has given me time to think up some new stuff, and I think I can improve some stuff previously done.
